I ordered fried vegetables dumplings they are really good. I do recommend them and the sauce that comes with is great too. I don't like peas on beans but they have one inside. That sauce actually covers it up so I don't taste it much. And it's crispy it's a should try.
They are 2 separate storefronts, same owner. One storefront is the traditional deli serving cooked foods, sandwiches, and accompaniments (drinks, pastries, chips, etc); the other storefront is a grocery store. The grocery store is definitely my number 1 go-to for fresh fruits and veggies (rarely see stale offerings) and other standard groceries. (dairy, meats, some international products, etc). I think they have the freshest produce in the area (better than Natural Frontier market). They are priced more reasonably than a Food Cellar, or competitively with Urban Market (which is a Key Food co-op- but better than Key Food) but it's the freshness that is my deciding factor. The cashiers are friendly- and I have to increase a star rating for a cashier today because she told a jerk customer in not so many words that just putting items on the counter (and then proceeds to do her shopping) does not allow her to jump a line ahead of others who considerately waits on line to check-out. The "not so many words" was simply, "you have to get on line over there." Thank you for maintaining order and fairness because jerks will be jerks unfortunately. The deli section offers one of the best grilled cheeseburgers in the neighborhood and I occasionally like to get breakfast egg sandwiches and fresh squeezed orange juice. You will find the total bill can be quite lofty if your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Their large bibimbap or pasta bowl will be enough for 2-3 servings. Salads are fresh. Their workers behind the deli/grill are really nice - my one complaint is being addressed as "Mami". I don't think we're that close, dude. Over-all, generally satisfactory experiences here.
Everybody has a favorite neighborhood deli. Well this is ours. It is sparkling and well stocked, ready to serve. We were having dinner to go on this occasion. and the sandwiched we ordered were made to order and done just right. This is a favorite of our good friend who live around the corner and comes here often. We were out of towners on a first time visit. I was impressed by the selection and cleanliness. I will be back. In New York there are so many choices. This on is a good choice.
****This review is for Lulu Lala, a bar upstairs**** I've never thought of stopping by this bar at first because I thought the special buy one get one free was too good to be true, like other bars where they only put Bud Light or Coors on, and I don't drink those! I was wrong! The specials buy one get one free for draft beers and buy two get one free for bottled beers apply on all beers, all day, everyday! So take advantage now as the bar is relatively new, and they try to promote it. You may need to flag someone to serve you beer though. I also had 10pc chicken wings for $10.99, and they were good and crispy.
Came here a lot for the quick bite or last minute grocery shopping. Sometimes they have a great deals by the entrance. In addition, they have fresh tofu in the basket in the fridge section. I enjoyed their tofu a lot :)
If you haven't had a burger from here then you might as well just jump off a cliff. If you love basic burgers or deli burgers then this place is your jam. If you can't make it down here don't worry they deliver. I never used to come here when I was younger because it looked dishevelled. The upstairs used to be questionable with some strange people. Ever since the yuppie take over began they got a huge update. The counters are on the left side when you walk in now. They used to be on the right side. The isles were so small that if you wore a book bag you'd legit make something fall off a shelf. Not anymore this place is immaculate. You could actually bring a date here. The men behind the counter are nice and eager to get your burger up and running into your plate. I personally love getting a regular cheese burger with lettuce, tomato and avocado w/ fries. I never remember it being more then $9. You can request to have it made rare. I love a deli with lots of drink options. If you wanna go upstairs where the wooded seating area is I recommend it.
So their new spot right next door is called Nu Look same cooks with the addition of some new ones and the food is still great! The cooks are very friendly however some of them get a little distracted when it is busy. I tried the buffet today and it taste great! Pepper steak and beef teriyaki over white rice and it was so delicious.
Phily cheese steak only deserves 2stars but chicken cutlet is a 4 star! For years I enjoyed chicken cutlet and yesterday I just realized "why needs to remain a tradition" by ordering a Philly cheese steak hero: tasteless. 11/4/2015, I just discover they have fish sandwich! It is so so sooooooo great!!!! Fresh crispy hero, lobster taste like flounder freshly fried with lettuce n tomato, so crunchy the hell! So yummyyyyyy.... Heaven in my mouth! A best $5.95 fish hero ever. Dare any one can beat it in its flavor and value in NY! I am going back right now to get one more. My weight scale won't be happy. 11/5/2015, again yes again, 7 stars for my fish wrap and fish sandwich (fish lover on the menu. $5.95). I can give up any food for this.
